14-year-old British-Nigerian, Daniel Anjorin, killed in London sword attack for burial today

A 14-year-old boy who was killed in a samurai sword attack will be buried today (Friday) in East London.

Daniel Anjorin was walking down Laing Close in Hainault on his way to school at around 7 am on April 30 when he was attacked by a swordsman, resulting in a slash to his neck and a stab wound to his chest.

A funeral service for Anjorin, whom his family described as a ‘wonderful’ and ‘hardworking’ boy, will be held at Jubilee Church London at 11 am on Friday, May 17. Following the service, he will be buried in an East London cemetery.

More than 300 people attended a vigil for Anjorin on Sunday, May 5, where his friend Harris thanked everyone for their support and paid tribute to him.

Monzo was also charged with two counts of attempted murder, two counts of grievous bodily harm, aggravated burglary, and possession of a bladed article, the police announced on Wednesday.

Four people were injured, including two Metropolitan Police officers during the attack.

Daniel Anjorin was a pupil at Bancroft’s private school in Woodford Green, which is also the same school attended by Nottingham knife-attack victim Grace O’Malley-Kumar.
