BREAKING: Ebonyi CP, Aliyu Garba, May be Committed to Prison for Contempt as PDP, Hon. Udeogu files proceeding
The Ebonyi State Commissioner of Police, CP Aliyu Garba, risk being sent to prison for refusing to obey an order of Ebonyi State High Court directing the Inspector General of Police, its servants, agents and/or officers not to accord any form of recognition to Barr Chief Onyekachi Nwebonyi, Engineer Francis Ori and Emeka Ogbo, as officers of the Peoples Democratic Party.
Barr Chief Onyekachi Nwebonyi, Engineer Francis Ori and Emeka Ogbo are deposed former Officials of the Party.
In the case filed by Hon. Fred Udogu and the PDP, a copy of which was sighted by BarristerNG, the plaintiffs wants the court to issue “an order of Court, committing ALIYU GARBA, the Commissioner of Police Ebonyi State, to prison and detained in custody until he obeys the order of this Honourable Court made on the 21st of January 2021.”
According to the petitioners, the CP, in flagrant disregard for the court order and a letter from IGP Adamu, locked the petitioners out of their office.
