CAC denies registration of Association of wickedness
The Corporate Affairs Commission has debunked the purported registration of a company called “Wickedness Association of Nigeria Lokoja Chapter” describing it as false, fake and fraudulent.
The manager of the commission in a statement dated 9th of January 2023, stated that the Commission does not register Associations as business names and could therefore not have approved the registration of the peddled Association as a Business Name.
The statement also added that the purported registration certificate was not and could not have been issued by the Commission for the following reasons:
1. The Commission does not register Associations as Business Names;
2. The name and object of the “Association” offend the provisions of Section 852(1)(c) in that they are undesirable, offensive, and contrary to public policy; and
3. The officer who purportedly signed the certificate had retired from the service of the Commission long before the date the certificate was purportedly issued.
