CAC Warns Public Against Fake Certificates Issued by SPEF, UPIL, and PREM Cooperative Societies

The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has issued a stern warning to the general public regarding the circulation of fake certificates of incorporation allegedly linked to three cooperative societies.

In an official disclaimer signed by the management of the Commission, it was revealed that the certificates being paraded by the affected organizations were not issued by the CAC.

The organizations identified are SPEF Cooperative Society Ltd, UPIL Staff Cooperative Society Ltd, and PREM Staff Cooperative Society Ltd.

According to the statement, each of the three companies is associated with two separate RC (Registration Certificate) numbers, none of which were issued by the Commission. The details are as follows:

  • SPEF Cooperative Society Ltd – RC Numbers: 1265884 and 512862

  • UPIL Staff Cooperative Society Ltd – RC Numbers: 1265837 and 553220

  • PREM Staff Cooperative Society Ltd – RC Numbers: 1265844 and 545901

The Commission clarified that the certificates of incorporation being presented by these companies are not valid. All the listed companies are associated with two RC numbers that were never issued by the CAC.

The public has been advised that anyone who conducts business with the listed organizations does so at their own risk.
