The president of the Court of Appeal, Justice Monica Dongban-Mensem, has constituted the governorship and national and state Houses of Assembly election tribunal for the 2023 general election in Borno State.

In a statement signed by the Secretary, Borno State Election Petition Tribunal, Tayelolu F. Adediji, Esq. and made available to BarristerNG, sitting of the Tribunal is to be held at the State High Court of Maiduguri, Borno state.

Part of the statement reads “This is to inform the general public that pursuant to the powers conferred on the Hon. President of the Court of Appeal under Section 285 (2) & (3) of the 1999 constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria( as amended).Hon Justice Monica Bolna’an Dongban -Mensem (HCPA), has constituted the Governorship, National and State Houses Election Petition Tribunal for Borno State.

“Meanwhile, the mandate before the Tribunal is to hear and determine Election Petition(s) that may arise from the upcoming 2023 General Election in Borno State. Subject to the above, the sitting of the Tribunal is to be held at the State High Court of Maiduguri, Borno State.

“For any inquiry, members of the public are advised to contact the Secretary to the Tribunal at the registry /secretariat of the Tribunal at the designated Court address.

“Kindly Note that Sitting takes place in Borno State & not Gombe State.”
