The President of the Nigerian Bar Association, NBA has appointed members of the Public Interest Litigation Committee (“PILC”)


In a statement signed by the association’s Publicity secretary, Dr. Rapulu Nduka, he stated that “In a recent statement issued by the President of the Nigerian Bar Association, he noted that recent events in the nation have reinforced the need for the NBA to activate its public interest litigation machinery to institute actions to challenge and seek judicial intervention on various issues.

“To that end, the NBA has now empanelled a 13-member NBA Public Interest Litigation Committee (“PILC”) with a mandate to, among other things, actively take steps to restore and reinforce the faith of the society in law as a veritable tool to bringing solutions to societal issues and checking abuse of power,” he said.

The members of the NBA-PILC are:

1. Dr. Charles Mekwunye – Chairman

2. Dr. Olumide Ayeni, SAN – Co-Chairman

3. Chairman NBA – SPIDEL (Dr. Paul Ananaba, SAN)

4. Kunle Edun

5. Aderemi Oguntoye

6. Boonyameen Lawal

7. Solomon Oho

8. Gloria Ballason

9. Malachy Odo

10. Olumide Babalola

11. Baba Isah

12. Amaka Ezeno

13. Auwal Yau
