History as FIA elects First Nigerian as Judge

History was made on the 8th day of December 2023 when David Owoicho Adejo-Ogiri was announced the first Nigerian to be appointed a judge of the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA).

FIA President, Mohammed Ben Sulayem unveiled the appointment during the General Assemblies meeting at Baku, the capital city of Azerbaijan.

Adejo-Ogiri’s appointment was proposed by the Automobile and Touring Club of Nigeria (ATCN) for a term of 4 years commencing from January 2024 to 2027.

A peep into his profile revealed that David Owoicho Adejo-Ogiri, Esq., is the Managing Partner of Crest Hill Law Office (CHLOF) and founding Director Cresthill Projects Limited has been elected as a Judge of the FIA Court: International Tribunal (IT) and International Court of Appeal (ICA).
A seasoned legal practitioner with over 22 years’ experience in Commercial law, Arbitration, Litigation, Sports law, intellectual property law, telecommunications, real estate and construction law.

His vast experience in Sports law and Administration for over a decade, he served as:
Member Nigeria Football Federation (FF) Disciplinary Committee from 2014 to 2017.
Vice-Chairman Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) Players Status Committee from 2017 to 2021..

He obtained LLM from Aberdeen Business School in International Information Technology Law; the Robert Gordon University, Scotland, United Kingdom.

Masters In International Relations and Diplomacy (MIRD) from the Nasarawa State University, Keffi.

Post Graduate Diploma in International Information Technology from Aberdeen Business School: The Robert Gordon University, Scotland, United Kingdom.

Post Graduate Certificate in International Information Technology from Aberdeen Business School: The Robert Gordon University, Scotland, United Kingdom.
