Industrial Court President, Justice kanyip declares open 4-day judges’ retreat in Uyo

In this era of new normal, the importance of retreat cannot be overemphasized in the administration of an effective Justice delivery system as it presents a prime opportunity to expand the knowledge base and also serves as an avenue to compare notes and thoughts.

 

Sequel to this, the Hon. President of the National Industrial Court, His Lordship, Hon. Justice Benedict Kanyip, PhD, FNIALS today Monday 18th January 2021 declared open the 4-day judges’ retreat organized for the court by Juritrust Centre for Socio-Legal research and documentation in collaboration with the National Judicial Institute.

The retreat centres on Industrial relation and the law is holding at the Ibom Golf Hotel, Uyo, Akwa-Ibom State, South-South Nigeria.

In his keynote remark, the Hon. President, Hon. Justice Benedict Kanyip while welcoming the judges stated that the essence of the retreat will enable a robust discussion on Industrial relation and the current positions of law that the quality of labour justice is what defines the court.

The guest speaker for day-1, Prof. Adedeji Adekunle SAN, lead faculty Juritrust centre spoke on Multilateralism, Globalization and Industrial Peace state that many of the world’s biggest challenges are not as a result of disagreements about how to cooperate, but a profound loss of direction about why to cooperate in the first place.
