In her remark, the President of the Association, Hon. Justice Jummai Hannatu Sankey described as impressive, the statistical breakdown of women Judges in the country, urging women not to rest on their oars but strive to excel in their various jurisdictions.

On the much craved gender inclusion, Justice Sankey noted that the number of female judges, heads of courts, and judicial officials both at the States and Federal levels have been commendable, urged for the appointments of more women judges to leadership positions in the judiciary to enhance gender inclusivity.

Giving a keynote address, the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Olukayode Ariwoola noted that beyond building the judges’ capacity, the meeting would also be an avenue to cross-fertilise ideas on eradicating violence against women and girl-child in the country.

Other renowned jurists present are Hon. Justices of the Supreme Court, Court of Appeal, Federal High Court and many heavyweight Law Lords across the federation.
