Comrade Gwarzo described the proposals as the outcome of extensive consultations involving civil society organisations, traditional leaders, youth groups, and women’s associations throughout Kano State.
“These submissions represent the true aspirations of the people of Kano State. The wide-ranging inputs reflect a collective desire for a more just, inclusive, and progressive Nigeria,” he stated.
He commended the House Committee for convening the regional public hearing, calling it a crucial platform for open dialogue and participatory governance.
“This is a golden opportunity to reimagine and reshape our nation’s legal framework in a way that truly reflects the current realities and the collective will of the Nigerian people,” Gwarzo added.
He reaffirmed Kano State’s commitment to a united and democratic Nigeria and urged lawmakers to give due consideration to the views and expectations of the public in their final recommendations for constitutional amendments.
