Like I always say, the world is evolving, and we have to also evolve with the world. Technology and technological advancements has permeated virtually all facets of human endeavors — Legal Practice is not left out.

My question then is, “How can Lawyers tap into the opportunities afforded them by technological advancements?” and “How can Lawyers utilize technological advancements for the betterment of the legal practice”?

The answer is simple. Lawyers need to go digital.

Office files can be digitalized and stored in a safe electronic space. This would make them always available. Paper files are prone to a lot of issues, a clear example being the dastardly experience the legal profession had during the End SARS imbroglio, where a lot of case files got destroyed.

The modern lawyer can take advantage of modern research platforms to further broaden his knowledge of the law and case laws. Take for example, Law Pavilion. Lawyers can have their case laws on the go, instead of carrying very many books to court.

Correspondences between firms and clients could become electronic and virtual. This will reduce delay and will save time and costs.

The knowledge of basic technological inputs in the legal practice will make one’s law firm stand out and a lawyer stand out too.

The role of technology in the practice of law cannot be overemphasized and a lot of revenue could be made therefrom too…
