Lawyer laments Police Disobedience to Court Order, Abuse of Office and Acts Unbecoming of A Police Officer
Aba legal practitioner, C. N. Enyeribe has lamented over what he described as Disobedience to Court Order, Abuse of Office and Acts Unbecoming of a Police Officer.
Recounting his experience in a case he was handling the lawyer said “This is a case of land dispute between two kitchens of the same family. Late Chief Michael Nwekpe who in his lifetime was the Traditional Prime Minister of his community married two wives. The 1st wife, Mrs. Ocheze Victory Nwekpe had Uchenna Nwekpe, Alozie Nwekpe and others, while the 2nd wife, Mrs. Ego Nwekpe had for him Maduabuchi Nwekpe, Ikechukwu Nwekpe, Chukwuebuka Nwekpe and others.
Late Michael Nwekpe in his lifetime divided his compound into two and gave the right side to his 1st wife and her children while the left side he gave to the 2nd wife and her children. (the sharing was evidenced in writing by late Michael Nwekpe and the document is attached herein)
About the month of August, 2023 the children of the 2nd wife started developing part of the compound given to them but the 1st kitchen used the instrumentality of the Patrol and Guard (P&G) section of the Nigerian Police, ABA Area Command headed by one ELEMBA and had the following persons from the 2nd kitchen arrested: Maduabuchi Nwekpe, Ikechukwu Nwekpe, Uzoma Nwekpe and Chukwuebuka Nwekpe and detained them from 30/8/2023 to 1/9/2023 and upon there release the said ELEMBA mandated the 2nd kitchen to pay the 1st kitchen the sum of Five Hundred Thousand (N500,000) which decision the 2nd kitchen rejected and thus sued in Suit No. HOB/81M/2023- Maduabuchi Nwekpe & 3 Ors v. Uchenna Nwekpe & 5 Ors of which the said ELEMBA is the 5th respondent while the IPO of the case, one SUNNY is the 6th respondent.

On 12/9/2023, the court made an interim order restraining the said ELEMBA and his men from further arresting the Maduabuchi Nwekpe, Ikechukwu Nwekpe, Uzoma Nwekpe and Chukwuebuka Nwekpe pending the hearing of the motion on notice. However, the said ELEMBA and his men in flagrant disrespect to the Order of the court stormed the house of one UDO DAVID who stood as surety to Maduabuchi Nwekpe & his brothers and arrested him this morning (15/9/2023).
