Nasarawa Assembly Demands Justice for Brutal Killing of CSP Muhammad Ali in Kano

The Nasarawa State House of Assembly has urged the Inspector General of Police and the Kano State Government to identify and bring to justice those responsible for the brutal killing of CSP Muhammad Ali, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Rano in Kano State.

The lawmakers strongly condemned the gruesome murder of CSP Ali, a native of Nasarawa State, describing the attack as unjustified and unacceptable.

The call was made by the Speaker of the Assembly, Dr. Danladi Jatau, following a motion raised by Hon. Solomon Yakubu Akwashiki, representing Lafia Central, during Tuesday’s plenary session in Lafia.

Dr. Jatau emphasized that prosecuting the perpetrators would serve as a strong deterrent to similar acts of violence. “I commend Hon. Solomon Yakubu Akwashiki for raising this important issue and thank all members for their contributions,” the Speaker said.

He also expressed personal grief over the killing, recalling that CSP Ali was his classmate at the College of Education, Akwanga. “This is an inhuman and devilish act. We urge Governor Abdullahi Sule to call on the IGP and Kano State Government to conduct a full investigation and ensure justice is served,” he added.

Hon. Solomon Yakubu Akwashiki condemned the killing, stating that watching the video of the attack was heartbreaking. He recalled the previous killing of another police officer, Bako Angbashim, last year in Rivers State, and warned that such violence against security personnel must not be ignored.

CSP Muhammad Ali was reportedly attacked by a mob of youths and later died in hospital from his injuries.
