NBA Elections 2018: Musa Alhaji Ya’u Joins The Race for NBA General Secretary

Former two times Chairman of Zaria Branch Musa Alhaji Ya’u Popularly known as A. Y. Musa has reported joined the race for the office of the Nigerian Bar Association General Secretary (GS). The election into the office of the General Secretary will be held next year 2018. The current General Secretary of the Association is Mr Abiola Isiaka Olagunju.

Mr Musa has served the Zaria Branch of the Association as two times Chairman, Two times Secretary and Three times National Executive Commitee Rep.

Mr Musa was a delegate to the NBA Election from 1998 to 2015 when the delegate system was abolished.

Called to the Bar in 1992, Mr Musa Started his own Law Firm AY MUSA & Co Zaria in 1997, where he practices Law till date.

Mr Musa is Believed to have the requisite experience to effectively man the office of the General Secretary of the Association.

According to one of his supporter, Mr Musa’s service to the Bar has exposed him to having a lot of friends among Lawyers throughout the federation.

Other Prominent Members of the Association rumored to be having the ambition of replacing Mr Olagunju in office as NBA GS include, the former Chairman of the Minna Branch, Jonathan Gunu Taidi, Current NBA National Legal Adviser and past Chairman of Ilorin Branch, Rafiu Oyeyemi Balogun, Immediate past Chairman of Ilorin Branch, Mobolaji Idris Ojibara, and immediate past National Welfare Secretary, Mas’ud Alebelewe.
