NBA Ikot Ekpene: Words Of Appreciation By the Three Remaining Accident Victims At National Orthopedic Hospital, Enugu State
We, the three remaining accident victims of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Ikot Ekpene Branch, wish to express our heartfelt gratitude and profound appreciation to several individuals and organizations who have played a pivotal role in our journey to recovery following a tragic accident during our return trip from the NBA Conference at Abuja on 30th August, 2023.
First and foremost, we extend our gratitude to the Almighty God for His mercies and the successful multiple surgeries carried out on us so far. The accident was a life-altering event, and we are thankful for the progress we have made on the road to recovery.
We also want to express our sincere appreciation to the President of the NBA, Yakubu Chonoko Maikyau, OON, SAN, for his unwavering support during this challenging time. Immediately upon learning of our accident, President Maikyau promptly reached out to us, offering words of encouragement and prayers. He also provides some financial assistance. We deeply appreciate you Sir.
In addition, we extend our heartfelt thanks to the Government of Enugu State, specifically the Commissioner for Health and the Chief of Staff of the Governor, for their visit and support. Their attention and care as we recuperate at the National Orthopedic Hospital, Enugu State is deeply appreciated.

We also acknowledge the invaluable assistance provided by the Ohafia Branch of the NBA, who rescued us and transported us to the National Orthopedic Hospital on the fateful day of the accident using their branch vehicle. Their swift response was instrumental in ensuring that we received timely medical attention.
The visit of the Enugu Branch Chairman, his Executive Members, Eastern Bar Forum representatives and other branch members was a source of comfort and strength during our hospitalization.
Furthermore, we express our gratitude to other kind-hearted individuals and organizations who supported us in various ways during this challenging period. Your generosity and support have been a source of hope and encouragement to us.
We would like to make a special mention of the 1st Vice President of the NBA, Linda Rose Bala, Esq., for her consistent calls, prayers, and her promised visitation to us in the hospital. Her compassionate gestures have not gone unnoticed.
While we are still at the National Orthopedic Hospital, Enugu State, undergoing observations and mobilization, we remain optimistic about our continued recovery and eventual discharge.
