Dear NBA President,

Protest letter from the NBA, Ohafia Branch

On behalf of the members of the NBA OHAFIA branch, we write this open letter to express our deep concerns regarding the registration fees for the 2024 AGC slated to hold in Lagos.

We are disappointed at the enormous registration fees that have been announced for the event. As practicing lawyers who are committed to legal excellence, we believe that these fees will make it extremely difficult for many of our members to attend the conference, particularly young lawyers and those in smaller firms.

We understand that the AGC provides a platform for lawyers to network, participate in meaningful discussions, and exchange ideas on the future of the legal profession. It is a shame that the cost of attending this event will be a barrier for many of our members.

NBA OHAFIA branch condemns the exorbitant registration fees for the 2024 AGC. The high fees will make it difficult for many members to attend, thus impeding access to professional development opportunities.

We urge the NBA to reconsider the registration fees for the 2024 AGC and take into account the financial constraints faced by many of our members. We believe that the Association should find ways to encourage more participation from lawyers across the country, including those from smaller firms and less privileged backgrounds.

We urge the organizers to make adjustments to ensure that the AGC is accessible to all members of the legal profession.”

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Yours sincerely,

Oko Ebe Uche, Esq
