NESREA Seals 21 Facilities In Abuja For Violating Environmental Laws, Top Real Estate Projects Affected
The National Environmental Standards and Regulations Enforcement Agency (NESREA) has sealed 21 facilities in Abuja for violating environmental laws.
Among those affected are several major construction and real estate projects, including Ochacho Real Homes Limited in Idu, Cosgrove’s Shopping Mall Project in Wuse II, and Belmont Court in Idu.
NESREA’s Director General, Professor Innocent Barikor, led the enforcement operation. He explained that the crackdown was driven by numerous public complaints about the negative environmental effects of these companies’ operations. Barikor criticized the persistent disregard for environmental laws, particularly the breach of the National Environmental (Construction Sector) Regulations 2011 and the Environmental Impact Assessment Act.

“This level of non-compliance is no longer acceptable,” he said.
The sealed facilities include:

CCECC projects (FIRS and Central Business District)

Mo Mouna Construction (Katampe)

Belmont Court and Istrom Construction (Idu)

MAB Global Estate (Idu)
Others on the list are Anarock Global Services Ltd., Quali Trends Nigeria Ltd., Boked International Ltd., Tim Tali Transport Ltd., Matilda Rozi Ltd., Efedi Homes (Kukwaba District), and T’lon Construction & Facilities Management.
Cosgrove’s Estate Project at the Central Business District, Constrix (Idu), Tayyib Homes Ltd. (Lugbe), and Contrix Cube (Katampe) were also sealed in the operation.
