Ondo Amotekun Rescues 5 Kidnap Victims, Stops N150m Ransom Payment
The Amotekun Corps in Ondo State has successfully rescued five kidnap victims without paying the N150 million ransom demanded by their abductors.
Speaking to journalists on Wednesday in Akure, the state commander of Amotekun, Mr. Adetunji Adeleye, revealed that the victims were rescued on May 6 and May 10 through intensified forest operations across the state.
According to Adeleye, four individuals were abducted on May 10 along the Lagos–Ore Expressway by a group of four armed kidnappers who demanded N100 million in ransom. However, Amotekun operatives swiftly responded after receiving a distress call and launched a forest rescue operation.

The fifth victim, kidnapped earlier on May 6 along the Ikare-Owo Road, was also freed without any ransom being paid, despite sustaining machete injuries. His abductors had demanded N50 million. He is currently receiving medical treatment at a facility operated by the corps.
Adeleye emphasized that the recent success was a result of the state’s directive empowering security agencies to carry out deep-forest patrols, and assured the public of round-the-clock vigilance by Amotekun officers and forest rangers.
“The Ondo State Government remains committed to protecting the lives and property of its people,” he stated. “We operate with zero tolerance for kidnapping, robbery, and other crimes.”
