PDP Blasts Tinubu Administration Over Rising Insecurity and Economic Collapse
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has voiced deep concern over the worsening insecurity and deteriorating economy under President Bola Tinubu’s administration. This was expressed during the party’s 99th National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting held Tuesday in Abuja.
The PDP also announced it will consider a resolution from its South-East caucus at a scheduled meeting on June 30, 2025. The NEC meeting, which had been postponed several times due to various internal issues, was convened to address urgent matters affecting the party and the nation.
During the meeting, PDP leadership sharply criticized the current state of Nigeria under Tinubu’s government. The party’s Acting National Chairman, Iliya Damagum, read a communique highlighting key concerns including rising insecurity, economic hardship, and widespread corruption.

The communique stated: “NEC expresses serious concern over the sorry and melancholic state of affairs of our Nation under the irredeemably exploitative, insensitive, and anti-people APC administration of President Bola Tinubu.”
It further condemned “policy inconsistency, wholesale corruption, massive treasury looting, budget padding, and diversion of public funds” which have contributed to infrastructural decline and a loss of investor confidence.
Moreover, the PDP accused the Tinubu-led APC of attempting to transform Nigeria into a one-party totalitarian state by targeting opposition parties through intimidation and suppression of democratic institutions.
The communique concluded by reaffirming the PDP’s commitment to democracy, the rule of law, and the free participation of Nigerians in a multi-party political system.
