Prison Decongestion: Lagos CJ Calls on the General public to submit Particulars of Inmates awaiting trial

Nigeria Prisons have 68,259 inmates – Controller General

Pursuant to the directive and approval of the Honourable Chief Judge of Lagos State, Honourable Justice Opeyemi O. Oke, in preparation for the next Prison Decongestion exercise, the Bar and General Public are called to send in detailed particulars of the following:

• High Court Division and Number/Magistrate Court District and Number
• Suit Number/Charge Number
• Names of Parties
• Status of Case
• Next Adjourned Date
• Number of Years Awaiting Trial
of any Awaiting Trial INMATES at any of the Prisons in Lagos State who have been remanded in custody for over 3years for minor offences ONLY.

Kindly forward same to the email address of the DCR (Legal) provided below within the next 3 weeks on or before Friday 16th November 2018.
