Shettima Ilmuye of Borno and Sardauna of Uba, Chief Joe-Kyari Gadzama, SAN elected to serve as Chairman, Board of Trustees of the Lake Chad Club
Celebrated Learned Silk, Chief Joe-Kyari Gadzama, who is the Shettima Ilmuye and Sardauna of Uba has been elected as the Chairman, Board of Trustees of the Lake Chad Club, Maiduguri, Borno State. The Lake Chad Club, which has been in existence for decades, is a social club which aims to promote harmony through recreation, interaction, sports and other related activities.
We gathered that the election took place on 19th May, 2023 at Maiduguri, Borno State during the Inaugural Meeting of the Board of Trustees and was a result of the Learned Silk’s dedication, impact and commitment to the Club.
The inaugural meeting was necessitated by the nomination and confirmation of four additional trustees namely, Alhaji Ibrahim Abba Gana, Prof. Danjuma Gambi, Dr. Abayomi Hamakim and Alhaji Umar Adam Kolo, to fill the vacuum created by a death toll in the membership of the Board of Trustees. The addition was in line with the Constitution of the Club during the Annual General Meeting of the Club held on 29th April, 2023 at the Club premises in Maiduguri, Borno State.
This is yet another recognition for the veteran Silk who is known for his laudable, philanthropic and numerous achievements within the legal profession and society at large.
