Shocking Video Reveals Nigerian Soldiers Brutally Dragging Undercover Policeman at Ebonyi Traditional Rulers’ Event; Detective Battles for Life
An undercover officer of the Nigeria Police Force, Detective Stanley-Duke Ngene, is currently battling for his life in a hospital after being brutally attacked by over 20 soldiers in Ebonyi State.
The incident took place at Mgbom Na-Achara Okposi during a gathering of traditional rulers who had convened for a customary election. Eyewitnesses say the soldiers arrived in military gun trucks and an armoured personnel carrier, allegedly under the command of Brigadier General Igwe Patrick Omoke.
According to sources, Ngene was on covert duty at the venue when the soldiers stormed in. Without warning, they descended on him with overwhelming force, punching and kicking him before two soldiers slammed him violently to the ground.

Video footage obtained by SaharaReporters captured the shocking moment: armed soldiers and plainclothes men, believed to be working with them, pummelled the detective while dragging him across the venue. Journalists attempting to film the attack were threatened, though some continued recording.
Efforts by other security agents, including officers from the Nigeria Police and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), to intervene were unsuccessful as the soldiers overwhelmed the scene in what witnesses described as a “commando-style” assault.
As of the time of this report, Detective Ngene remains in critical condition at an undisclosed hospital, receiving treatment for multiple injuries.
When contacted, Nigerian Army spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Onyechi Appolonia Anele requested that inquiries be sent via WhatsApp. A response was still pending at press time.
