Stanley Imo welcomes colleagues to the 2017/2018 legal year and congratulates the new Silks

I want to welcome all members of the legal profession to the new legal year of 2017/2018. The previous year was yet another succesful year although with its challenges. Through those challenges the Judiciary has always come out stronger with renewed strength in the dispensation of justice. This legal year is yet another opportunity to build on the gains of the past.

The ceremony comes with the conferment of the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria on deserving members of the profession. May I therefore use this medium to congratulate the new Senior Advocates of Nigeria. As senior members of the profession who have distinguished themselves in the legal profession, the new Silks should continue to uphold the very noble principles the legal profession stands for, even as they join the highly revered inner bar.

This well deserved elevation is an indication of their laudable contributions to the development of the legal profession in Nigeria. Once again, a warm welcome to the 2017/2018 legal year and congratulations to the new Silks!!
