Let me first of all express my deepest sympathies and condolences to the families of the victims in this senseless tragedy. May God strengthen and console them in this inconsolable incident.
In recent times, Anambra State has enjoyed relative peace and security, hence the shock and disbelief experienced in the wake of this terrible news.
All well meaning and peace loving indigenes and residents of Anambra state must condemn this criminality and muderous desecration of a place of worship without equivocation.

I therefore call on the Commissioner of Police, Anambra Police Command, the Director of State Security Services, the Executive Governor, Chief Willie Obiano, the Inspector-General of Police and indeed all law enforcement agents to beef up security in the State, now more than ever.
All stakeholders must double their efforts to ensure that this ugly incident is properly investigated and the perpetrators promptly fished out and dealt with.
The security situation in Anambra State must not be allowed to deteriorate any further.
I am indeed deeply saddened by this mindless, heart-rending incident.
May God continue to bless Anambra state and Nigeria.
