Supreme Court Declares that APC has No Candidate in Yala 1 State Constituency, Cross River State, for the 2023 General Elections
The Supreme Court yesterday, in a unanimous judgment, agreed with the position of First Baba Isa, Esq., and held that the APC primary election that produced Regina Anyogo as the candidate of the APC for the Yala 1 State Constituency, Cross River State, is illegal and invalid having been held in Ogoja, outside the Yala 1 State constituency.
The Cross Appeals filed by both APC and Regina Anyogo were dismissed for being academic.
The prayer of the Appellant, Victoria Otanya Odey, to be declared the APC Candidate for Yala 1 State Constituency was also refused.
The Supreme Court stated repeatedly that the implication is that APC has no candidate for the Yala 1 State Constituency in the 2023 General Elections.
