Supreme Leader Khamenei Declares Iran Has Reversed the Balance of Fear, Says US Now Dreads Tehran as War with Israel Ends in Ceasefire
Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has declared that Iran no longer fears the United States, asserting instead that it is the US that now fears Iran.
In a message shared on his X account on Wednesday, Khamenei referenced a recent exchange of attacks between the two nations, saying: “The US attacked Iran, and our retaliatory strike against it was very significant. God willing, once censorship is removed, it will become clear what Iran has truly done.”
He stressed that Iran had entered the conflict from a position of strength, pointing to Israel’s reliance on American support as evidence of its vulnerability.

“We entered the war with strength. The proof for this is that the Zionist regime was compelled to turn to the US for help. If it had been capable of defending itself, it wouldn’t have turned to the US like that,” he said.
Reiterating Iran’s stance on Israel and its US backing, Khamenei insisted Tehran had not instigated the confrontation. “Yes, we consider the Zionist regime to be like cancer, and we believe the US regime is a criminal for backing it. However, we weren’t seeking a war. But when the enemy attacked, our response was crushing,” he stated.
Khamenei affirmed that Iran remains prepared across all fronts. “Whenever we enter a field, both diplomatic and military fields, we will enter well-equipped and completely prepared, God willing and with His grace.”
Reflecting on Iran’s evolution since the 1979 Islamic Revolution, Khamenei praised the nation’s transformation. “Before Iran’s Islamic Revolution, just mentioning the US’s name frightened people, let alone engaging in an actual confrontation with them. Now the same nation has reached a point where it doesn’t fear the US. Rather, it frightens them and carries out whatever operations it can,” he said.
He described Iran’s actions during the recent conflict as a historic national achievement. “The Iranian nation accomplished a great feat in the recent war imposed by the Zionists. This feat was a matter of determination. The very fact that a nation is ready to confront the power of the US and the Zionist regime carries immensely significant value.”
Khamenei’s remarks follow the conclusion of a 12-day war between Iran and Israel, which also drew in the United States.
Last month, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian formally declared the end of the conflict during a nationally televised address carried by the state-run IRNA news agency and reported by AFP.
“After the heroic resistance of our great nation, whose determination makes history, we are witnessing the establishment of a truce and the ending of this 12-day war imposed by the adventurism and provocation of Israel,” Pezeshkian announced.
The declaration came shortly after US President Donald Trump confirmed that both Israel and Iran had agreed to a “complete and total ceasefire,” with the implementation set to begin within 24 hours.
