Tragedy at UNIZIK: Student Dies After Jumping From 3-Storey Building
A male student of Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), Awka, Anambra State, has died after jumping from a three-storey building at a lodge near Royal Kitchen Junction, close to the university’s main gate.
The tragic incident occurred around 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, according to eyewitnesses. Those at the scene reported that the student may have been under the influence of hard drugs when he jumped. He was rushed to a nearby hospital but was confirmed dead on arrival.
Residents of the area said they heard a loud thud before rushing out to find the student lying in a pool of blood. His roommate, found inside their shared room shortly afterward, was reportedly incoherent and also appeared to be under the influence of drugs.

As of the time of reporting, the student’s identity had not been released, as authorities were yet to notify his family.
When contacted, the university’s spokesperson, Mr. Louis Okwudili Njelita, said, “This information is not up to my desk now for me to make any comment.”
