Tragedy in Minna: Man Allegedly Beats Pregnant Wife to Death

A tragic incident unfolded in the Limawa area of Minna, Niger State’s capital, when a man allegedly beat his pregnant wife to death on Tuesday evening.

Neighbors were alerted by loud cries coming from the couple’s home, but by the time they arrived to intervene, the woman was already lifeless.

Though the deceased’s identity has not been officially confirmed, local residents described the scene as deeply disturbing. The suspect, her husband, reportedly has a history of domestic violence.

“This was not the first time he laid hands on her. We warned him many times, but he continued. Now he has killed her,” a community source revealed.

The suspect was promptly arrested and is currently in police custody while investigations are ongoing.

When contacted, the Niger State Police Public Relations Officer, Wasiu Abiodun, said he needed more time to gather details and had yet to release an update at the time of reporting.

In a related case reported earlier this year, a woman in Katcha Local Government Area, Fatima Dzuma, was accused of killing her husband, Baba, in a shocking act.

Dzuma reportedly confessed to the murder, saying she killed her husband simply because she “no longer liked him.” She strangled him with a scarf and struck him with a pestle while he slept, breaking his hand.

After the killing, she concealed the body in the backyard and denied any knowledge of his whereabouts for three days, even as the family searched desperately. She later admitted to acting alone.
