Yoruba Tribal Diatribes: A Recipe for National Disaster

By Douglas Ogbankwa Esq.

Tribalism is a tool used by political goons, to cajole fools.

My father is Igbo from Ahiazu Mbaise in Imo State of Nigeria, My mum is Uneme from Akoko Edo Local Government Area of Edo State of Nigeria. Benin City in Nigeria has given me everything I have and everything I am. My room mate at the Nigerian Law School, Bwari, Abuja, was Abubakar Abubakar from Minna in Niger State. My favorite town in Nigeria is Lekki in Lagos, Nigeria. My favorite meal is Edikaikon Soup of the Efik Stock in South-South Nigeria. I am a proponent of the Nigerian Story.

Now wait for this, I did not only vote for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu for President, but I also deployed my skills and extensive network nationwide in his favor. The President-Elect may be a nationalist, but not so for some people around him.

I have a friend who has visited the Rwandan War Memorial. in Kigali and he indicated that Nigeria has perhaps all the indicators of a country tending toward genocide.

How can 21 People Die in the 2023 Elections in Nigeria and there is no commission of inquiry set up? Have we lost our sense of humanity? Most of the killings are traced to tribal diatribes of elites who act as 19th Century pristine folks, who do not realize that the World is now a global village, tending towards a borderless and stateless society.

While our mates are going on vacation to Planet Mars, some folks are acting as pre-colonial goons. When they steal our commonwealth, they have no tribe, religion, or creed, but when the upper class, moves against one another they spill out gibberish. No one is more guilty than MC Oluomo. In a sane Society, MC Oluomo should be in jail. We should give the South Africans Awards for their Xenophobic attacks, because, only a moral wreck, will kill its citizens over mundane and banal dialectics like tribalism.

The Governor of Lagos State Babajide SanWolu should not just increase salaries, he should increase the fervor to stop tribalism in Lagos.

The President-Elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu is an exceptional person, hence he has traction nationwide. He won this election based on his personal. These tribal tirades have increased the value of Nnamdi Kanu and given traction to what he represents .

I do not know Bayo Onanuga or Dele Alake, but I know Femi Fani-Kayode, first as a respected senior at the bar, then as an associate. But, I am not comfortable with his stance on this issue. The President-Elect I know will not rule Nigeria as a conquered Country, but as a place where unity, progress, and peace will reign.

Nigerians are not spoils of war and election is not war. It is just an exercise for change of government. Femi Fani-Kayode must apologize to Nigerians for his “Igbophobic comments”. He has to do that to tone down the narrative. The Igbos are not happy and we should not miss an opportunity to win Nigeria back.

Do not underrate the Igbos, they will shock you all!

All those killed must be recompensed through their families and those businesses destroyed must be given compensation.

One Nigeria can not not be achieved by sermonization . The Northerners must be laughing at us all now. But in these Elections, they have acted as true nationalists. The Hero of Nigeria’s next decade is the North.

According to K.O. Mmadiwe on Nigeria:

Man is living a false lifestyle, in a wrong society, a Society where morons and barons , a Society where thieves are chiefs and a Society where monkey dey work , baboon dey chop
